YOU ARE HERE x is a solo that works through the frustration and shortcomings of being here but wanting to be there. This piece maps out my personal journey to “there,” highlighting the importance of change and persistence.

Us, You, Me is an interpretation of how we coexist in our daily lives. Due to the invisible barriers created by iPhones and other devices, there seems to be an unspoken agreement that restricts us from communicating with or simply acknowledging one another. Through repetitive movement phrases and a bit of storytelling, I draw attention to our tendencies to withdraw ourselves from social situations, despite the various factors meant to bring us closer together.

There is a well-known saying that suggests we should “dance like nobody’s watching.” In Dependence is a piece in which I accept the fact that there are indeed people watching me dance. This piece acknowledges the intimacy and vulnerability that is inherent in the act of letting myself be seen.
